ASUU Strike: federal institutions to commence activities


Federal institutions set to Kickstart activities

The academic staff union of universities (ASUU ), has accepted the request of most federal universities who wishes to commence academic activities despite the on going strike.

This came after a brief meeting with some representatives from ASUU.

The spokes person reminded them of the reason in which the flag for strike was raised stating that the government are yet to meet the demands of most federal institutions in the country which includes shortfalls on salaries, and other educational amenities.

He further stated that since some schools has shown interest in commencing their academic activities without FG meeting to their demands, they should be given the opportunity to do so.

Furthermore he stressed on the need to abide by the standing covid-19 protocol in other to curve the spread of the virus, and that all instruments for effective running should be provided.

While he was speaking he made mention of some institutions that have accepted to resume school despite the ongoing strike.
