Anthony Martial is moving freely and without a brace on his injured knee, as the Manchester United forward targets a return from injury.
MEN photographers spotted Martial out in the Manchester district of Hale with his wife Melanie, on Wednesday. The Frenchman was asked how his knee was recovering and replied that he was feeling good.
Martial has not been considered for selection by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as United host Roma in their Europa League semi final tonight (Thursday) at Old Trafford.
But he could yet play a part again this season for United, despite Solskjaer previously suggesting the 25-year-old’s season was over. Martial picked up the injury during the international break at the start of this month, playing for France against Kazakhstan.
His most recent United appearance came in the FA Cup quarter-final defeat by Leicester on March 21st.
Speaking a few days after the injury, on April 7th, Solskjaer said: “Anthony has started his recovery and, if we see him before the end of the season, I will be very surprised.
“But, of course, he is determined to come back as quickly as he can. There are important games for us before the end of the season and then there are the Euros [with France, in the summer].
“He has already come in [to the training ground], he is bright around the place. [He’s] disappointed he can’t help us now, but, of course, he wants to work to get back as quickly as possible.”
A return from injury before the season’s climax would be a boost for Martial, who was enduring a difficult campaign even before the knee problem struck. He’s scored just seven goals in all competitions this season, four of them in the Premier League.
