Borussia Dortmund reiterated their stance on star centre-forward Erling Haaland on Tuesday.
Haaland was absent from a recent fitness test at the club, fuelling speculation that he could be on the move from the German giants, but Dortmund have always held firm on their stance on the 20-year-old, claiming that he’s not for sale this summer
Dortmund’s sports director Sebastian Kehl has now released the following update amid recent Haaland links to Chelsea.
“Haaland to Chelsea? I read about it, but for us nothing has changed: we have plans with Erling for next season, he and his agent are aware of it. We expect him back this week,” Kehl said.
Rather understandably, it’s not just Chelsea that are interested in signing Haaland, though, as both Manchester United and Manchester City view the Norwegian as an ideal signing – hardly surprising considering he scored 41 goals across all competitions last season.
The MEN revealed in March that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and John Murtough had mutually agreed that Haaland should be United’s priority signing in the transfer market.
After Sergio Aguero left for pastures new upon the expiration of his contract, it also became clear that United would face competition from City for Haaland, as the Premier League winners went about making plans for life after the legendary forward.
Pep Guardiola’s side have also been linked with a move for England captain Harry Kane this summer.
