It’s not often in the past you’d see Liverpool and Manchester United players showing visible public support for one another.
Players of England’s golden generation of the past, have often talked about the cliques that would be formed during camp with the national team, as players from the top sides decided to sit with their own club teammates.
All that has changed now, as shown by Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson who has shown his support for United captain Harry Maguire.
The centre-back took to social media on Wednesday to post his feelings on England’s heartbreaking penalty shootout defeat in the final of Euro 2020.

He put a message on Instagram which said: “A couple of days to reflect on our journey. An emotional rollercoaster.
“As a player and a fan I’m hurting but I hope we made everyone proud and gave people memories that will last a lifetime.
This was evident by Henderson’s reply to Maguire’s post, as he simply put a heart emoji to the Manchester United captain’s message.
Though players from Liverpool and United are now friendly when away with England, things will return to normal next month, as both clubs will look to mount a fierce challenge for the Premier League title.
