Manchester United fans say same thing after Luke Shaw’s Euro 2020 Team of the Tournament snub

Manchester United supporters believe that Luke Shaw has been ‘robbed’ after he wasn’t included in the Euro 2020 Team of the Tournament.

This summer’s European Championship came to an agonising end on Sunday as England were defeated by Italy on penalties in their first major final for 55 years.

While a devastating defeat, there were plenty of positives for the Three Lions to take from the tournament and one of the biggest has been the sensational form of Shaw.

The left-back scored England’s opening goal in the final after just two minutes with a sweetly struck half volley and also picked up three assists in his six appearances.

Shaw was also excellent defensively as he continued his resurgent club form for Gareth Southgate’s side, but his performances haven’t been enough to earn him a spot in the Team of the Tournament.

Instead, Italy’s Leonardo Spinazzola got the nod at left-back. The Roma man also enjoyed a brilliant tournament but he only contributed one assist and conceded more than Shaw.

Spinazzola didn’t play in the final two games of Euro 2020 after suffering an Achilles tendon rupture in the quarter-final victory over Belgium, which is set to rule him out for a number of months.

Shaw’s United teammate Harry Maguire did make the cut at centre-back in the Team of the Tournament, however, with fellow Three Lions Raheem Sterling and Kyle Walker also being selected.

The full Team of the Tournament is as follows: Donnarumma; Walker, Bonucci, Maguire, Spinazzola; Jorginho, Højbjerg, Pedri; Chiesa, Lukaku, Sterling.
