West Ham drop Declan Rice hint amid Manchester United transfer interest

West Ham have dropped their biggest hint yet that Declan Rice is not for sale this summer after he was used in the launch material for their new home kit.

Manchester United have been linked with a big money move for the defensive midfielder, who enjoyed an excellent summer as part of the England squad at Euro 2020 that made the final of the tournament.

United are keen to add to their midfield options and Rice is seen as the number one target for that position, but West Ham are not so keen to sell. They have placed an asking price of around £90m on the 22 year old which is deemed too high, but United are still interested.

Reports suggest that the east London club will look to offer him a brand-new contract to fend off interest and while he may not sign a deal, the inclusion of the wanted midfielder in their video for the new home kit makes it pretty clear that he will be staying put this season if they have their way.

His current contract with the Hammers expires in 2024, but the Hammers want to extend that deal to give him a bumper pay-rise in line with his standing in the game right now.

Rice is also a target for Premier League side Chelsea, but it’s believed that he will not push for a move with West Ham set to play in the Europa League this week following a sixth placed finish in last season’s Premier League under David Moyes.

The midfielder is currently on holiday after his time with England at Euro 2020, where he started every game as Gareth Southgate’s team were beaten by Italy in the final on penalties.

Rice has made 145 appearances for West Ham’s first team since making his debut in 2017.
